Readers meet my new beloved platforms.. their name is Lacie and you can buy them here in Nude, Yellow or Black. They are also so comfortable.. just be super careful on uneven surfaces! I am loving all the block cut-out platforms that are out at the moment, I have another pair which I will be sharing with you later in the week. I love how summery they look with this Denim jacket but have contrasted the outfit with my adored Asos Burgundy Leather Mini Skirt for an edgier look.
I have some very exciting news to share with you, I have been invited over to London on Thursday to Boohoo's AW'13 Press Day and have booked an impromptu flight for my Mom and I. I am so excited to visit Boohoo's HQ, meet the crew and of course most of all, to see their AW'13 collection before it's release. I will be updating my trip and all the sure to be amazing Boohoo pieces on my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter so make sure you have followed me. I also have been updating my Instagram and Facebook quite a lot over the past few days so be sure to check them out. Feel free to leave your links below also and I'll check yours out too. Coachella Moodboard

Coachella Moodboard

Live music, desert sun, style, Californian atmosphere, and the freedom and innovation of festival fashion, it's no wonder Coachella is the favoured music festival amongst bloggers. I, amongst droves of other music and fashion lovers, am longing to attend the festival, and am spending my Saturday basking in my pinterest and Instagram feed which has been taken over by Coachella goers.

And so, it seemed apt to create a Coachella Moodboard, here are some if my favourite festival images. I adore anything with a long haired hippie girl vibe!

Keep an eye out on my Facebook and Instagram for my favourite looks from Coachella 2013, which I will also be posting here on P&P over the coming days.

SS'13 Moodboard

Before I began blogging I had an obsessive hobby of cutting out looks and photographs from magazines and creating a moodboard on my memo board or sticking them into folders. One of the reasons I wanted to start a blog was to digitally create and share these moodboards as I loved doing so and loved the idea of sharing them. Which is why I have surprised myself in that I have not yet created a moodboard on the blog, until now.

I have so many ideas for moodboards and am excited to create and share them. First up is a moodboard for SS'13, what I am loving at the moment, what inspires my Spring/Summer style and which trends are prevailing. I love how instantaneous blogging is and how simple it is to create digital moodboards, moodboards are a great way to portray what I love in one simple post.

Also, as many of you may know Google Reader is closing down soon but the clever folk at Bloglovin' have created a simple link which will transfer all of your favourite blogs from Google Reader/Blogger to you Bloglovin' account, sweet huh? So if you follow P&P on Google and wish to continue to follow, you can transfer your reading list here, or you can just search Penny and Polaroids on Bloglovin'. But I do strongly recommend setting up a Bloglovin' account, it's the easiest way to follow and discover some amazing blogs.

April Wishlist

Céline Logo Tshirt // Michael Kors Ring // Zara Nude Clutch // Topshop Boutique Silk Cami //
Topshop Peel Off Nail Polish // Michael Kors Bangle // Alexander Wang Leather Skirt

So I may be a little late to be lusting after a Céline Logo tee, as you may know these type of logo tshirts were everywhere in the past couple of months, especially loved by bloggers and Rhianna. White Tshirts are one of my favourite items and this logo tee is very like my style but I wasn't interested in them as everyone else was wearing them. I think it's a very cool, simple item so I gave into temptation and have ordered one.. if only I could afford to team it with this Alexander Wang snakeskin leather mini skirt. I just love this skirt. I have been searching for a black leather miniskirt for awhile now but sadly to no avail (I'm fussy, I want it plain and great quality).

This Michael Kors ring is my newest WANT item. I absolutely adore it. I have been looking out for a statement/cocktail gold ring (and one that won't turn my finger green) for quite awhile and just adore this one. The bangle is also a similar style piece from MK's latest collection. I love these chunky gold pieces and with items like these you really do pay for great quality, they are worth the money. Only I want loads of them to wear all at the same time.. then it gets pricey.

If you have never felt anything silk from Topshop Boutique you may think their items are overpriced but let me assure you, their silk pieces are beautiful. I love this simple little cami, a top like this is so easy to wear. Also, how cool is Topshop's peel off nail varnish! I love this midnight blue colour. I always seem to choose nude coloured items but I really do like the nude shade of this Zara bag. It would be perfect with so many outfits, and go from day time to night by tucking in the long strap and using it as a clutch. Versatility is always something great to look out for in a bag, this one can be casual and dressy, a clutch or a long strapped bag.

Also, here are two items I have been lusting after for the past couple of weeks and recently purchased on a Topshop shopping spree.. I can't wait to wear them! I love the crochet openings in the waist of the dress and the sixites style to it.

Fashion Innovation Awards

Leather Skirt & Black Dress (Worn as a top), Asos // Shoes, Jeffrey Campbell // Statement Necklace, Topshop //
Watch, Michael Kors // Bag, River Island // Bangles, Warehouse // Ring, K Kajoux

Last Thursday my friends and I attended the Irish Fashion Innovation Awards. It was such a fantastic night and the style, from the runway to the seats, was beyond impressive. It was my first year attending the annual event and I can honestly say it was a great show. It was an event for everyone, from the designer elite to the style savvy student. The show itself was inspiring, from students to professionals designers, the pieces were amazing. The style at the event was equally impressive; I love checking out everyone's outfits at events like this one and I was very impressed with the style on the night. There was such a variation of styles, from innovative pieces to classic ladylike styles.

I purchased this Asos skirt a while back from Asos and was waiting for an opportunity to wear it since. It's very classic and quite formal so I thought it was perfect for the awards. It's a beautiful fit, I adore how it sits high on the waist and is still a long midi style. I had ordered this backless dress from Asos and it arrived a couple of days before the event so I decided to wear it as a top with the skirt. I have worn skirts over dress a couple of times before, it's a great way to change an outfit around and get more wear out of your dresses. I was unsure about this statement necklace when I tried it on, it's huge! But as it was the 'Innovation' awards I thought why not, and I actually really pleased as I recieved quite a few compliments on it at the event.

Check out my Facebook and Instagram to see more pictures of fellow bloggers and I from the event.
